About Sawyer Hurwitz
Understanding the art and science of creativity has been a life long pursuit. Even in grade school, I hosted a recess art club dedicated to sharing the techniques I read in the “Learn to Draw” books I got for my birthday each year. As I got older, this passion led to a BFA in Visual Media Production with a minor in Writing and eventually to a career in the film and television world.
For over a decade I worked as a director and union editor primarily for non-fiction series and new media. I’ve worked on projects for major networks like MGM and Warner Bros and even surreal internet brands like Super Deluxe. During this time I also developed and cut numerous educational series featuring big name talent like David Blaine, Casey Neistat, Idina Menzel, and Charlie Puth.
This passion for education also extended to the wellness space where I developed content for some of the biggest wellness educators in the world. During this time, I traveled all over North America interviewing yogis, coaches, therapists, and even psychedelic scientists, the whole while absorbing everything I could on the topic of wellness. My commitment to learning the art of wellness even led me to becoming a certified Amrita Yoga Teacher while filming a documentary about rehabilitating trauma in America’s prisons.
In addition to my film/ tv career, I’ve also worked as an independent artist under the moniker Psychotronic Solutions. My augmented reality sculptural collages have shown in galleries and music festivals around the world. And together with the teams at Swing Shift, Abracalabs, and Roadside Attractions LLC, I have designed artwork for immersive festival experiences across America including a fully functional and art filled alien research vessel/ fast food restaurant and the largest structure at 2022’s Burning Man, The Temple.
